HOT ! 大村剛 Ceramic Katakuchi – Rusted Iron

This is a katakuchi pouring vessel by Japanese ceramic artist 大村剛, purchased around 2008.The form is a simple cylindrical body, interrupted only by a spout that appears as if a small section of the rim has been sharply cut away.Decorative elements are deliberately minimized, allowing the tension of the form itself to define the character of the vessel.The glaze shows uneven tones reminiscent of weathered iron, with a subtle llic grain visible on the surface.Designed to be placed silently within a space,it carries a sense of darkness and tension reminiscent of a Rikyu-style tea room.⸻【作家について】大村剛は、1998年より陶芸家・岩田圭介氏に師事。
岐阜県多治見での制作を経て、2001年に独立。
2007年より福岡県うきは市にて作陶を続けています。
金属のような薄くシャープな造形と、独自の色・テクスチャー表現に特徴があります。
